A common assumption is that oils and ghee are bad for our heart, but this is a misconception. Ghee is packed with monounsaturated fats and Vitamin A, and so about a teaspoon a day is highly recommended. Similarly while all oils and oily foods have a bad rep, only the ones with saturated fats (coconut) and trans-fats (processed foods) are cholesterol building and thus to be had in moderation. Oils with mono-unsaturated fats (groundnut and mustard) and poly-unsaturated fats (sunflower, sesame) are vital for the body.
